Daniel J. Weatheritt is a Graphic Artist and Designer based in Northumberland. His fascination and love of drawing started in Primary School as a member of Northburn First School Wildlife Club where he would fill many notebooks with drawings of garden birds and mammals. Daniel has always enjoyed creating characters and short stories and knew from a young age that he would pursue his creative dreams.

In his teenage years he became interested in the diverse artistic styles and technical production of comics, graphic novels and picture books, which led to the study of Graphic Design at Northumbria University. Shortly after graduating he established his own studio, using his unique and distinctive graphic style to serve both public and private sector clients, as well as develop his own book projects and diverse creative interests. Drawing is the foundation of every project and he loves designing for print, producing hand written type and favours traditional working methods, including wood carving and assemblage. His preferred drawing technique is mixed media - pen & ink, pencils, gouache, acrylic, chalk, watercolours and collage, all employed in the creation of surreal characters, environments and narratives packed with intricate detail and humour.

Daniel loves to draw animals and is obsessed with Nature, Science Fiction, Robots, Dinosaurs, Outer Space and Car Mechanics (and currently undertaking a nut and bolt restoration of his treasured Classic 1986 998cc Austin Mini). When not drawing he can usually be found tinkering with car parts and riding his 125cc Bullit Scrambler 'Olive'.

His clients include Action for Children, Alnwick Playhouse, Bedford Borough Council, The Bookseller, Creative Cocoon, Dot to Dot Active Arts, English Heritage, Fox Searchlight UK, HTC, Lazy Grace, Lets Live Here, Live Theatre, Muse Developments Ltd, Museums Northumberland, Northumberland County Council, North Lincolnshire Council, Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Off the Page Drama, Select Psychology, Stephen Fry, Stockton Borough Council, St. Oswald's Hospice, The Printing Charity, The Renewal Trust, WiT Partnership Ltd and Xtrax. He was also the recipient of a Print Futures Award in 2016 for his Airship Nelson project (a fictional travelling art airship), planning and delivering graphic design and illustration workshops for children in primary schools and cultural venues across the North East.
